Stephen P. Messier, Ph.D.

Dr. Stephen P. Messier holds a master’s degree in physical education from the University of Rhode Island and a doctorate in biomechanics from Temple University. He is a Professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science and the J.B. Snow Biomechanics Laboratory at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Messier’s research is advancing our understanding of the connection between overweight and osteoarthritis including the effect of weight loss on the incidence and progression of the disease.
